The newest premium speaker in the signature Premier Collection is a handsome, floor-standing three-way model. PC9.5 represents the company's most advanced technology and design profile, reflecting Phase Technology's bywords, "The Value of Handcrafted Quality." This series incorporates the state-of-the-art in loudspeaker development for unsurpassed sound reproduction. Included are advanced technologies developed by Phase Technology like solid-flat piston drives (patent # 4566178) which inhibit the "break up modes" that degrade clarity and smoothness. Their Unicell™ anti-diffraction treatment, a proprietary uniform density foam, surrounds every tweeter (and midrange on the PC9.5 and PC3.1) to absorb stray sound waves before they can reflect off the cabinet and grille surfaces to create diffraction distortions. Also featured are user-adjustable variable-axis soft-dome tweeters, a patented (patent # 3328537) Phase Technology invention, that can be aimed by the user to create a wide soundstage. Model PC9.5 expresses the highly stylized design of the entire Premier Collection with its softly rounded edges that invite a finger's touch. Three furniture-grade real wood finishes are offered: Natural Cherry, Honey Oak, and Black Ash. New, striking geometric black grilles narrow at the top and bottom and flare in the middle, and floor spikes with removable carpet pins are include.
